Our Viking experience

Viking equipment is built to be serviced rather than swapped out, and our work covers the full lineup found in South Bay kitchens:

  • Refrigerators — cooling problems, temperature swings, and component failures
  • Ice makers — units that stop producing, jam, or leak
  • Ranges — burner, ignition, and oven-cavity issues on gas and dual-fuel models
  • Wall ovens — heating, preheating, and temperature-accuracy faults
  • Cooktops — burners that won't light, stay lit, or adjust properly
  • Sealed systems — refrigerant-side repairs on Viking refrigeration
  • Relay and control boards — the electronics that run modern Viking appliances

To give one recent example from our records: a Viking refrigerator in Rolling Hills that kept shutting down turned out to need a relay board, and the repair took about an hour.

Common Viking symptoms we're called for

  • Refrigerator not holding temperature or cycling erratically
  • Ice maker producing little or no ice
  • Range burners clicking without lighting
  • Oven not reaching or holding its set temperature
  • Cooktop flame uneven or going out on its own
  • Error codes or unresponsive control panels
  • Appliance repeatedly tripping the breaker
  • Unusual noises, buzzing, or constant compressor running

How we diagnose it

Every visit follows the same straightforward sequence. The technician arrives in the window you booked — you'll get a text 20–40 minutes ahead so you're not waiting by the door. He inspects the appliance, identifies the actual fault, and gives you a written quote before any work begins. There are no hidden fees: the price you approve is the price you pay. Once you approve, we complete the repair and back it with a 1-year warranty by default, extended up to 2 years on select repairs.

Safe checks before you call

Before you call, a few minutes of checking can sometimes save you a visit — and helps us diagnose faster if a visit is needed:

  • Confirm the appliance has power and the circuit breaker hasn't tripped
  • On refrigerators, check that the doors close fully and the gasket seals without gaps
  • Review the control panel settings — a changed mode or setpoint is a surprisingly common culprit
  • Make sure vents and grilles around the appliance aren't blocked by packaging, cookware, or debris
  • If your model has an accessible condenser grille, clean it as described in the owner's manual
  • Write down any error code on the display and mention it when you book

Please leave anything beyond this — panels, wiring, gas connections — to the technician.

Troubleshooting guides

Repair or replace?

With a built-in premium appliance, the math is different than with a mass-market unit. A Viking refrigerator or wall oven is sized and trimmed for a specific cabinet opening, so replacement often means cabinetry work on top of the appliance cost. These units are also engineered around repairable components — boards, igniters, fans, sealed-system parts — which means a targeted repair typically restores full function for a fraction of replacement cost. We recommend replacement only when the diagnosis shows cascading failures that make continued repair uneconomical, and we'll tell you plainly which situation you're in after the diagnostic.

Viking repair questions

Can you come today?

Usually yes — we offer same-day or next-day appointments across our South Bay service area, including Manhattan Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Torrance, and Hermosa Beach. Our phone line and online booking are available around the clock Monday through Friday, and Saturday 9AM-3PM; technician visits are scheduled during regular appointment hours.

What warranty do you provide on Viking repairs?

Every completed repair carries a 1-year warranty by default. On select repairs the coverage extends up to 2 years — the technician will tell you which applies before you approve the work.

How should I prepare for the technician's visit?

Clear access to the appliance — move anything blocking the front and, for refrigerators, be ready for the unit to be pulled forward. Note any error codes and when the symptoms started. You'll receive a text 20–40 minutes before arrival.

Will I know the cost before you start?

Yes. The technician diagnoses the appliance first, then gives you a quote for the specific repair. Nothing happens until you approve it, and there are no hidden fees added afterward. You can also stop by our office at 516 N Sepulveda Blvd, Manhattan Beach if you'd rather discuss it in person.
