Viking Range Repair in the South Bay

When a Viking range won't light, heats unevenly, or keeps clicking, you want it fixed by someone who works on these ranges every week — not a generalist seeing one for the first time. We've serviced Viking cooking equipment across the South Bay for over ten years, and same-day or next-day appointments are usually available. Call (310) 361-3551 or book online any time.

Symptoms we're called for

  • Burner clicking continuously but not lighting
  • Flame that's weak, yellow, or uneven across the burner
  • One burner dead while the others work
  • Oven section of the range not igniting or heating slowly
  • Burner flame going out when turned to low
  • Knobs or controls not responding as they should
  • Gas smell around the range (see safety note below)
  • Surface igniters sparking constantly even when off

What the repair involves

Range faults tend to concentrate in the ignition and control chain, and that's where we focus:

  • Igniters and spark modules — the most common failure on gas ranges; worn igniters cause endless clicking or no-light burners
  • Burners and cooktop components — cleaning-resistant faults, uneven flames, burners stuck at one output
  • Control and relay boards — when knob or panel commands stop reaching the burners or oven cavity
  • Heating and temperature problems in the range's oven section

Every repair follows the same process: diagnose, quote in writing, repair after your approval, no hidden fees. Completed work carries a 1-year warranty, extended up to 2 years on select repairs.

Safe checks before you call

Safety first: if you smell gas, don't troubleshoot. Ventilate, avoid switches and flames, leave the area, and contact your gas utility's emergency line before anything else.

For non-gas symptoms, a few safe checks:

  • Confirm the range has power — even gas models need electricity for ignition, so check the breaker
  • Review the control settings; some functions lock out others, and a control lock left on looks like a dead range
  • Make sure ventilation openings around the range aren't blocked
  • Note any error code shown on the display

Please don't remove burner assemblies or touch anything on the gas side — that's strictly the technician's territory.

Repair or replace?

A professional Viking range is a long-service appliance: heavy-gauge construction, mechanical controls, and parts designed to be replaced individually. The failures that stop a range — igniters, spark modules, boards — are precisely the components a repair addresses directly, which is why replacing an entire range over an ignition fault almost never makes sense. Where replacement enters the conversation is accumulated damage across multiple systems at once; if the diagnostic shows that, we'll say so and let you make the call with real information.

Every completed repair is covered by our written warranty — 1 year by default, up to 2 years on select repairs. Warranty details.

Questions about this repair

A burner keeps clicking even when everything is off. Is that dangerous?

Constant sparking usually means moisture or a fault in the ignition circuit rather than a gas hazard, but it will drain the igniter and is worth fixing promptly. If clicking is accompanied by any gas smell, treat it as a gas issue: ventilate, leave, and call your gas utility first.

Do you also work on Viking cooktops, or only full ranges?

Both. Viking cooktops are part of our regular workload — burner, ignition, and control faults on a cooktop are close cousins of the same problems on a range, and the same visit process applies.

How fast can an igniter problem be fixed?

Ignition repairs are typically single-visit jobs — a Wolf oven igniter replacement in Torrance recently took our technician about an hour, and Viking igniter work is comparable in scope. The exact estimate comes with your quote after diagnosis.

Can I reach you outside business hours to book?

Yes — phone and online booking are available 24 hours Monday through Friday, and Saturday 9AM-3PM (closed Sunday). Technician visits themselves happen during scheduled appointment windows, with a text 20–40 minutes before arrival.
