Viking Wall Oven Repair in the South Bay
An oven that runs hot, runs cold, or won't heat at all ruins recipes long before it fails completely — and with a Viking wall oven, the cause is almost always diagnosable and repairable. Wolf & Viking Service has repaired premium ovens across the South Bay for more than a decade, with same-day or next-day appointments in most cases. Call (310) 361-3551 to book.
Symptoms we're called for
- Oven not reaching the set temperature, or taking far too long to preheat
- Baking results inconsistent — burnt edges, raw centers, uneven browning
- Actual cavity temperature drifting well away from the display
- Broil or convection function not working while bake still does
- Display dead, garbled, or showing an error code
- Oven shutting itself off mid-cycle
- Door not latching or sealing properly
- No response at all when starting a cycle
What the repair involves
Wall-oven complaints usually come down to heat delivery or the electronics commanding it:
- Heating and temperature problems — elements, sensors, and calibration issues that make an oven miss or overshoot its setpoint
- Ignition faults on gas models — slow, partial, or failed lighting
- Control and relay boards — a failed board can disable single functions or the entire oven; a wall-oven control board replacement we completed in Manhattan Beach took about an hour and a half
Diagnosis comes first, then a written quote with no hidden fees, then the repair — covered by a 1-year warranty, up to 2 years on select repairs.
Safe checks before you call
Worth checking before your appointment:
- The breaker — wall ovens are on dedicated circuits, and a tripped breaker is the cheapest "repair" there is
- The control panel — confirm no delayed-start, sabbath, or lock mode is engaged, and that clock-dependent functions have a set clock
- The door — verify it closes fully and the seal sits flush all the way around
- Vents — make sure the oven's ventilation openings aren't obstructed
- Any error code on the display — photograph it if it comes and goes
Skip anything involving disassembly or the oven's internals; describe the symptom instead and let the technician open it up.
Repair or replace?
Wall ovens make the strongest case for repair of any built-in appliance: they're fitted into cabinetry at an exact cutout size, so a replacement that doesn't match the opening means modifying the surround. Meanwhile the parts that actually fail — sensors, igniters, boards — are individually replaceable, and a repaired oven returns to full performance under our warranty. If the diagnostic ever shows damage extensive enough that repair is the wrong answer, we'll tell you directly rather than sell you a fix that doesn't hold.
Every completed repair is covered by our written warranty — 1 year by default, up to 2 years on select repairs. Warranty details.

Questions about this repair
My oven bakes unevenly but seems to reach temperature. Is that repairable?
Usually, yes. Uneven results with a correct display often point to a sensor, element, or convection fault rather than a hopeless oven — exactly the kind of problem a diagnostic visit pins down. The technician will identify the failing component and quote the specific repair before starting.
The display is dead. Does that mean the whole oven is done?
Rarely. A dead or garbled display most often means a control board issue, not a failed oven — and board work is routine for us. One Viking wall-oven control board replacement in Manhattan Beach took roughly ninety minutes. Check the breaker first; if power is fine, book a visit.
What should I have ready when the technician arrives?
A note of any error codes, a sense of when and how the symptoms show up (every bake? only broil? only after long preheats?), and clear access to the oven. You'll get a text 20–40 minutes ahead of arrival so you can plan around it.
What does the warranty cover on an oven repair?
Completed repairs are covered for 1 year by default, with select repairs covered up to 2 years. If the repaired fault recurs within the warranty period, we make it right — that's the point of the warranty.
