Safe checks before you call

- Settings: review the control panel for an active timer, delayed start, or lock mode; these routinely masquerade as a dead oven
- Door: confirm the door closes completely and the gasket sits evenly — a door that does not seal bleeds heat and wrecks temperature accuracy
Also jot down any error code the display shows. Beyond these checks, keep the panels on; the diagnosis belongs to the technician.

Questions about this repair
My oven runs 25 degrees off. Can that actually be fixed?
Temperature inaccuracy is one of the most common Wolf oven complaints we see, and it is repairable. The cause has to be diagnosed on site — it can sit anywhere in the heating and temperature-control chain — which is exactly what the diagnostic visit is for. Once repaired, the work is covered by our warranty.
There is an error code on the display. What should I do?
Write the code down exactly as shown, along with what the oven was doing when it appeared, and tell us when you book. Error codes narrow the diagnosis considerably and help the technician arrive prepared. Do not clear it repeatedly and keep cooking — codes exist to flag a real fault.
Do you replace Wolf oven control boards?
Yes — control and relay boards are a core part of our Wolf work. A recent control board replacement in Manhattan Beach took about an hour and a half. Board failures are behind many blank displays, unresponsive panels, and ovens that simply stopped switching on their heat.
Should I run the self-clean cycle before the technician comes?
No — please do not. Self-clean runs the oven at extreme temperatures, and on an oven that is already misbehaving it can turn a small fault into a bigger one. In fact, some ovens first fail right after a self-clean cycle. Leave it as it is; a dirty oven does not slow the diagnosis down at all.
