What happened
A hot-surface igniter fails gradually: it still glows, but stops drawing the current the gas safety valve needs to open. The result is an oven that goes through the motions and never heats.
Testing confirmed exactly that, so the igniter was replaced with an OEM part — and because a weak igniter is a wear item rather than a mystery, the fix holds.
