What happened

A sealed-system leak is the most invasive repair a built-in refrigerator can need, and the decision to rebuild rather than replace came down to the unit itself: the cabinet, doors and panels were in excellent shape — only the cooling loop had failed. Rebuilding the system preserved a refrigerator that would cost five figures to replace and kept the original built-in fit untouched.

After the rebuild, the system was vacuumed, recharged and pressure-tested before we left; cooling returned to spec the same afternoon.
