Sub-Zero Door Gasket & Drain Repair

Reported symptomWater overflowing, heavy condensation, and ice building up throughout the freezer
Work performedReplaced the failed door gasket and cleared the blocked drain line as a separate operation, then verified the compartment held temperature without condensation returning.

What happened

The owner had already been told by another company that the refrigerator needed replacing. What we found was two ordinary faults compounding each other: a door gasket that no longer sealed, and a drain line that had blocked.

The failed gasket was letting warm, humid room air into the cabinet. That moisture had to go somewhere — it condensed, ran down, and froze, which is why ice was building through the freezer and water was overflowing rather than draining away. With the drain blocked as well, there was nowhere for the meltwater to go at all.

We replaced the gasket and cleared the drain line separately, because fixing only one of the two would have left the symptom coming back. The unit went back to holding temperature with no condensation — a repair measured in parts and hours, against a replacement that would have meant a new built-in and cabinetry work to fit it.
